nobodys-perfectThree weeks ago I got “sick”. I mean can’t move out of bed sick. In fact I was literally in the bathroom or my bed for 2 days straight! (great visual huh?) It really stinks to feel that miserable and then it is compounded when you have 2 young kids at home! Thankfully, I have amazing friends that helped out!

I could have easily blamed my “sickness” on the latest “bug” that was going around. However, I believe that everything that happens to you is for you, so I took a different approach. While lying in bed agonizing over how horrible I felt, I started to ask myself what really caused this. I knew there was a very important message my body was trying to tell me because of how I was forced to stop everything!

Upon reflection, the weeks/months prior had been insanely busy. I had traveled more than ever before, I was working almost every night, and I had lost sight of what is really important in life. So, my body was giving me a wake up call! My business had been growing rapidly and I was doing everything I could to keep up. But, I had gotten into some unhealthy habits, like working every night and not giving myself
the time that I needed. Lesson learned!

I am tremendously grateful that my body made me stop and become aware of what I was doing to myself. I have made significant shifts since then, like making time each day to meditate or doing something else just for me! I am even more grateful that I know to ask why is this happening instead of feeling like a victim of circumstance!

So there you have it! I am NOT perfect and darn proud of it! Even though I know a lot about how stress impacts the body, the biggest lessons I have learned have come from the ones that my own body has taught me!

Exercise
What signals has your body been giving you lately? Have you listened to those signals? Take a few minutes and ask yourself “what is my body really trying to tell me?” Make changes accordingly.

Affirmation
Everything that happens to me is for me!
All symptoms I feel are messages from my body working for my greater good!

Make it an OUTSTANDING week! It’s your choice.
